  • Create IT project plans and manage the operational aspects of critical or high-profile Information Technology (IT) software projects to completion
  •  Administers projects within IT programs which may span multiple functions; multiple concurrent IT projects may be assigned. 
  • Lead and guide the work of technical staff.  May assign duties, responsibilities and/or spans of authority to IT project personnel. 
  • Confers with IT project personnel to identify and resolve problems.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring IT project progress and for intervention and problem-solving with other project managers, line managers, and customers.
  • Review project milestones and deliverables.
  • Review and assess project budget, performance, issues, risks, and scope.
  • Prepares mitigation plans and appraises potential for implementation.
  •  Submits IT project deliverables and verifies adherence to quality standards. 
  • Ensure smooth transition from old technological systems to new ones. 

 

Requirements:

  • Coaching development teams in an Agile/Scrum environment

Project Engineer

Corsair is seeking a Project Engineering Specialist to support the customer Program office on multiple projects. Candidates must have experience developing project plans, and managing execution of those plans to budget, scope and schedule. Candidates must demonstrate a history of agility, strong technical competence, and an ability to move between multiple projects and teams on a daily basis.

 

This is a 100% remote position.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Establish design concepts, criteria, and coordinates multidiscipline engineering efforts, including development, integration, and test, for ongoing or routine projects 
  • Perform engineering planning, integration, verification, and validation and evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability, and analyses
  • Develop and administer work breakdown structure (WBS) of projects 
  • Create milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules; identify project issues and propose solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications
  • Monitor performance metrics
  • Prepare and present outcomes, assessments, and corrective action initiatives
  • Identify corrective actions to improve project or team performance

Experience Required:

  • Knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and its application
  • Exercises engineering judgment in developing appropriate decisions considering decision criteria, implications, and possible consequences, to ensure product design integrity
  • Demonstrates understanding of the applicable scientific and engineering knowledge and involves others in obtaining information for the engineering decision-making process
  • Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems
  • The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables
  • Manages budgetary and/or financial processes to ensure appropriate fiscal performance
  • Knowledge of Project Management theory, concepts, and principles (e.g., theory of constraints, critical path methodology, project risk management, triple constraints, project scope management, project management lifecycle etc.)
  • Knowledge of project planning principles and techniques to achieve desired outcomes on budget and on plan
  • Ability to define, design and plan projects, achieve project deliverables, and optimize the contributions of internal and external resources
  • Ability to create project schedules to identify overall timeframe for project activities to meet the defined project objectives (to include major milestones), identify resource requirements for projects, and manage those resources throughout the project life

Electrical Engineer

Corsair is hiring a talented Electrical Engineer with a passion for robotics and aviation to join its growing engineering team developing autonomous aircraft. This engineer will work closely with electrical, robotics, software, and other cross functional teams and contribute towards the design of circuit boards used throughout the aircraft and sub-systems. Additionally, this engineer will conduct trade off studies on DC power systems used on aircraft. This is a hands-on position. Engineers are responsible for driving their projects through from concept design to delivery and support of hardware. Optimizing designs for reliability, weight, and efficiency will be a focus.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Define requirements for a new design and develop a requirements specification document
  • Perform preliminary design including block diagrams, trade off studies, and design reviews
  • Designing or reviewing schematics, design analysis, breadboard tests, PCB assemblies 
  • Minimizing package volume and mass while maximizing reliability with DFM/A in mind
  • Assist the senior team members in design, layout, and documentation
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to optimize placement of electrics within aircraft or supporting equipment 
  • Design and conduct component level, product level through test 
  • Validate and verify all new design and existing electrical hardware including deliverable test requirements and documentation

 

Qualifications Required:

  • 8+ years of working experience in relevant industry
  • Must be a US citizen, Green Card Holder, or Permanent Resident
  • Experience with Altium Designer or equivalent schematic/layout tools
  • Experience with digital hardware design (Micro-controllers and communication protocols such as SPI, Ethernet, RS485 etc.)
  • Experience with cable and wire harness design including rugged connectors, power devices, etc. 
  • Experience with communicating with and driving suppliers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere

 

Qualifications Desired:

  • M.S. / Ph.D. in relevant discipline with a focus in power electronics
  • Experience with component selection
  • Completed (designed/built/tested) high voltage/high power designs
  • Experience with challenging thermal, mechanical, and environmental constraints
  • Experience in hybrid-electric design and aircraft power systems

  • Champion technical processes for system engineering and product development

  • Support gated reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR for one or several complex unmanned aircraft system development program(s) 
  • Participate in system trade studies and functional decomposition 
  • You will work with the engineering disciplines to develop subsystem and system level test plans that verify that requirements are met 
  • You will develop structure, behavior, and requirements system models using SysML software (e.g., NoMagic, Rhapsody, Innoslate) 
  • You will perform and maintain Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Fault Tree Analyses (FTA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) 
  • You will support the creation of product lifecycle analyses in support of system reliability and maintainability.

Qualifications Required:

  • Performs all aspects of vehicle design from the initial concept to the complete production ready design
  • Design mechanical electromechanical products and systems

Military Fixed-Wing / TACAIR Pilot Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Corsair is hiring a Military Fixed-Wing / TACAIR Pilot Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Fort Worth, TX.  This position which will perform an integral role in training system development for the Lockheed Martin F-35 Program; to include partner nations and FMS customers.

Responsibilities:

  • The F-35 Pilot Training SME utilizes Instructional Systems Development (ISD) methodologies to construct task and knowledge analysis, media selection, lesson simulator scenario, and flight design reports
  • Work closely with the Lockheed Martin F-35 Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to develop F-35 Pilot Training objectives
  • Analyze F-35 air vehicle and weapons systems to conduct pilot training instructional systems analysis
  • Leverage tactical and operational experience to support the development of common and service-unique pilot training systems engineering analysis for the F-35 Program
  • Provide expertise on pilot training techniques, philosophy and individual assessments
  • Produce Instructional System Design (ISD) documents for academic, training device and flight instruction
  • Success in this position looks like an experienced aviator who leverages their considerable operational and training expertise to assimilate vast amounts of technical data involving F-35 technologies and develop it into world-class pilot training solutions

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of tactical aviation experience as a pilot (F-35, AV-8B, F-15, F-16, F-18 or F-22)
  • In-depth knowledge of adversary threat systems, weapons, and tactics
  • Joint and / or combined operations experience
  • American citizenship and a Department of Defense Secret security clearance required
  • Operational squadron instructor experience desirable
