Senior Systems Engineer

Corsair is seeking a self-driven, pragmatic Senior Systems Engineer to join a dynamic, cross-functional team of multidisciplinary professionals. This role spans the full system life cycle—from requirements development and analysis to risk management, integration, testing, verification, and operations. Ideal candidates will bring a systems-thinking mindset and a passion for fostering a collaborative, systems-oriented culture.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

·       Champion technical processes for system engineering and product development

·       Complete requirements development for functional, performance, and interface requirements  

·       Support gated reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR for unmanned aircraft system development program(s) 

·       Participate in system trade studies and functional decomposition 

·       Coordinate with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration

·       Maintain configuration management and documentation of integrated systems

·       Develop test plans, procedures, and cases

·       Conduct system verification and validation testing

·       Analyze test results and document findings

·       Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with testing standards

·       You will work with the engineering disciplines to develop subsystem and system level test plans that verify that requirements are met 

·       You will perform and maintain Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Fault Tree Analyses (FTA), and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA) 

·       You will support the creation of product lifecycle analyses in support of system reliability and maintainability.  

 

Qualifications Required:

·       U.S. Citizen

·       At least 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering - Aerospace systems engineering preferred

·       Experience managing requirements traceability and evolution through the system development cycle

·       Hands-on lab and field test engineering experience

·       Experience in R&D environments including physical integration of hardware

·       Familiarity with electronics and systems related to image collection and analysis

·       Has developed systems test plans, procedures, and reports and reviewed and interpreted specifications

·       Proficiency with C/C++ and MATLAB required

·       Developed instrumented flight test vectors and data acquisition

·       Allocated requirements to subsystem & engineering coordination

·       Experience in R&D environments including physical integration of hardware

·       Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis

·       Writing Systems Safety protocols and ensuring personnel safety during field testing

·       Must be able to travel occasionally

 

 

Qualifications Desired:

·       Experience with unmanned aviation programs

·       Experience Writing Systems Safety protocols and ensuring personnel safety during field testing

·       Knowledge of Simulink, Ansys and SolidWorks preferred

·       Exposure to Guidance Navigation and Control Systems along with Modeling Simulation & Control and Model-Based Systems Engineering is helpful but not required

·       Advanced degree is preferred

 

 

 

Education:

·       Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

·       Must be able to travel occasionally

 

 

Qualifications Desired:
